IRF 2010 AustralAsian  CONTINENTAL RAFTING CHAMPIONSHIPS :

Greatest Rafting Event in Asia-Pacific Rim 

 

In the next 22-26 April 2010, Indonesia will host the biggest international event ever for rafting in Indonesia :  IRF 2010 AustralAsian CONTINENTAL RAFTING CHAMPIONSHIPS. The event will be held in two rivers ; Serayu River in Wonosobo - Banjarnegara Regency of Central Java and Progo River in Magelang Regency of Central Java and Kulon Progo Regency of Yogjakarta. Serayu posses class 2-3+ rapids will host Time Trial - Head to Head & Slalom Race, while Progo River which posses class 4 rapids will host challenging Down River Race.

 

At least 10 (ten) countries of IRF (International Rafting Federation) eligible Members in Asia and Pacific Rim  will participate on this spectacular event : (1). Australia (2). Japan (3). India (4) Indonesia (5). Iran (6). Kazakhtan (7). Korea (8) Nepal (9). New Zealand (10). Philipine. Indonesia hold runner-up and third rank in  previous event in Japan - 2008, therefore they will challenge to achive  the Champion of this event as well tremendously endeavour to be a good host.

 

Base on experience participated on IRF Championship Event in WRC Korea 2007 and World Cup Japan 2008, and WRC Bosnia 2010, FAJI  as hosting organizer is confident to  deliver better standard on hospitality, judge - racing system and solemnity in the event. Similar to Bosnia WRC 2009, FAJI proposed to exhibit Night Slalom Race. Other event also will be competed in the venue as side events : River Boarding and Kayak  Slalom race.

 

To provide better standard of race - judging system, Organizer will provide Electronic Time Keeper with a backup system of 6 stopwatches each in Start and Finish Point, and video camera recording for each Section for Slalom race and in Start Area.  Rescue and Medical Team both in the River and land will be prepared. The Rescue Team compose of professional rafting guides and some of them already posses' international certification from Rescue 3. The Medical team consist of doctors and paramedic who already involved in rafting activities and have experiences in field especially in disaster area. All point connected by radio communication. Mobile Ambulance that  cover along the route.  Internet access, mobile internet access, and phone - mobile phone with international access are available at site to facilitate the event.

 

All race location are situated in distinctive Tourist Destination area, namely : Dieng Plateu the widest highland in Java where the ancient Temple, crater and other historical heritage found. Borobudur Temple one of the World Wonder also situated in the Progo River Area. Other destination is Yogyakarta the City of Kingdom, the center of Java Culture with all its unique civilisation, historical sites, palaces, culture and art performance. 

 

This event will be supported by all parties, sponsors and government concern: i.e. Indonesia Marine Corps, Central Java & Yogjakarta Provincial Government,  Banjarnegara & Wonosobo Regency, Ministry of Youth & Sport, Ministry of Culture & Tourism, Rafting Sport Club and Rafting Operator.
